The holders are hand-made by Silène Fry for Thelma Paris. They are created in her workshop in Paris. Silène discovered the art of ceramic- making in 2018 when she settled down in New York. She began her artistic training working for the Japanese Togey Kyoshitsu studio. Most her creations are directly inspired from the Wabi Sabi philosophy which could be defined as seeking the essence of beauty in the fleeting moment and the imperfection of things.

Each holder is made from black stoneware cooked at high temperature and blended with ordinary clay. It is then coated with a transparent enamel and its warm colour will easliy match any interior.

The stick burns from the side of the dish, leaving the ashes to fall conveniently in the center and be easily collected.

Thelma Paris was born from the desire to create a place of one's own. Produced in Japan, a country with a unique and ancestral know-how in incense. This unique know-how allows us to have perfectly harmless products that emit very little smoke. The sticks are made with high quality raw materials sourced with respect for the environment.
