For optimum candle life, burn the candle for at least two hours on first use; the top layer of wax must be completely liquid. By keeping the wick short, the candle burns up more slowly and you prevent black smoke from covering the edge of the glass.
Keep the wick short for more burning hours and to prevent soot from being released. Up to 50 burning hours.
