7 tips for a healthy winter glow
Winter weather can leave our skin looking dull, dry, and grey. The harsh combination of cold winds and indoor heating can leave our skin dehydrated and lacking its natural radiance. But don't worry, there are several ways to restore a summer-like glow to your complexion
1. Exfoliate regularly
When dead skin cells build up on the outer layers of your skin, it can cause your skin to look dull, dry, and flakey, and can even clog your pores. Regular exfoliation will make your skin more smooth again and decrease the appearance of fine lines.
2. Add a Vitamin C serum to your routine
Serums contain a high concentration of ingredients. They (and especially one with vitamin C) will help to brighten your skin, boost hydration, and diminish the signs of aging.
3. Use a face oil
The use of facial oils during the fall and winter months can make a real difference in your skin care routine. Facial oils contain nutrients, including essential fatty acids and antioxidants that can help seal in moisture to keep your skin hydrated during the cold, dry months
4. Add a weekly mask to your beauty lineup
Adding a noursihing mask is another excellent way to get your skin glowing, especially if they contain antioxidants, hyaluronic acid or other hydrating ingredients.
5. Avoid water that is too hot
Hot water can strip natural oils, which can cause dryness and irritation. Instead, always use lukewarm water when cleansing your face.
6. Wear sunscreen daily
Even when it's cloudy or rainy, wear your sunscreen. This will help prevent UV-induced damage, including skin pigmentation, aging brown spots and a rough, dulling texture.
7. Drink more water
An easy one but oh so true: if you aren’t drinking enough water, it’ll likely affect the appearance of your skin. Drinking plenty of water will help boost hydration from below your skin’s surface.
